China Corruption Blotter (October 24, 2014)

Fang Guangyun, former party secretary of Zhanbei neighborhood committee in Hefei city (Anhui Province), is on trial for defrauding government of 63 apartments meant for relocated residents. Dubbed “Uncle House,” Fang also took $9,774 in bribes from residents to help them obtain houses fraudulently. Fang’s daughter and son-in-law were both jailed for five years in July for participating in the fraud scheme.
