Dr. Henry Wong Meng Yeong | Contributing Editor
Dr. Henry Wong Meng Yeong is a contributing editor of the FCPA Blog.
He is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and also speaks Bahasa Indonesia. He's currently working on a book about management lessons from the from the Four books of Confucius.
Dr. Wong is a periodontist practicing in Singapore. He holds a bachelors degree of dental surgery degree from the University of Singapore, a post-graduate masters degree in periodontics from the University of London, and has been admitted to the roll of specialists of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He has lectured at the National University of Singapore and internationally at Harvard University and the University of California. He has also lectured in Sydney, Australia where he holds an honors degree in Master of Health Science from the University of Sydney.
He is also an artist having received his training in art in watercolours and oils in the United States in the early 1990s. His exhibition record includes multiple shows at the annual Singapore Watercolour Society exhibitions and at various venues throughout North America as well as private commissions. His artwork can be found in collections in the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. He has been supporting an orphanage through the sale of his paintings.
As he is fluent in ancient Chinese, his contribution to the FCPA Blog is centered on his interest in the old Chinese classics, to breathe life into words of wisdom from the sages and their application in contemporary management. Compared to Sun Zi’s Art of War which is taught in every management school, the teachings from the Four books of Confucius offer great management insights but unfortunately remain untapped as it was not written as a management manual and requires understanding to decipher the ancient text.
