Huang Zhiguang, former vice chairman of the Shenzhen Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for bribery and holding illegal weapons. Huang had accepted bribes to assist government officials in job promotions. He also helped Zhan Yuxiang, chairman of Guangdong Youhe Group Corp., with investment projects. http://www.chinanews.com

China Corruption Blotter (August 30, 2013)

Zhu Fulin, the former vice mayor of Zhejiang’s Jinhua city has been put on trial for taking bribes worth $2.58 million from real estate developers in exchange for awarding land deals. Zhu was placed under investigation last August along with his wife and bother-in-law. One of Zhu’s alleged bribe-givers was identified as Jinhua Zhengfang Group. http://zjnews.zjol.com.cn

Nanchang Hangkong University Party secretary Wang Guoyan was given “double expulsion” (from the Party and from administrative posts) by the Jiangxi Province Commission for Discipline Inspection for serious disciplinary violations, and is now awaiting judiciary proceedings.
