Army sergeant took bribes from Afghanistan humanitarian relief contractors

Whistleblower collects $1.7 million in Medtronic kickback settlement

Minnesota-based Medtronic Inc. will pay $9.9 million to resolve allegations under the False Claims Act that it paid kickbacks to doctors to implant its pacemakers and defibrillators, the DOJ said Wednesday.

SEC files amicus brief to expand employee whistleblower protection

The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a "friend-of-the-court" brief on Thursday, arguing that whistleblowers are entitled to protection from employer retaliation, even if they report the wrongdoing only to their employer and not to the SEC.
