Country count for new FCPA investigations

Since the start of 2018, companies and agencies have disclosed 19 new FCPA-related investigations.

Of the newly disclosed investigations, five have been closed, either by enforcement actions or declinations.

Fourteen of the new investigations remain open and apparently active.

Five of the companies with newly disclosed FCPA-related investigations didn't name any countries involved.

Two companies identified two countries involved. The other 12 companies identified one country involved.

Four companies named China and two named Israel.

Twelve other countries were named once: Hong Kong, Guatemala, Kenya, Mongolia, Algeria, Oman, Libya, Iraq, South Korea, Argentina, Mexico, and Brazil.

The countries named in the newly disclosed investigations that are now closed were Israel twice, and one mention each for China, Hong Kong, and Libya.
