Song Jianguo, former head of the Beijing Traffic Management Bureau, is under investigation for suspected discipline violations related to a fraud in the capital’s car license lottery. Sources said Song’s son and secretary had illegally traded car licenses for money. http://news.cnr.cn 

Huang Baodong, deputy general manager of state-owned Power Construction Corporation of China, has been stripped of his party membership and dismissed from office for taking huge bribes. No details were given on his case, some reports said he could be involved in irregular approvals of electricity projects. http://www.yicai.com 

Cai Rongsheng, former head of student admission office at Renmin University of China, is arrested on bribery charges. Cai was accused of accepting bribes over $1.6 million to enroll students in the university. http://www.chinanews.com 

Shi Yong, former head of Urban Construction Bureau in Jiuquan city, Gansu province, stood trial for accepting bribes worth over $4 million and owning $4.2 million in unaccountable assets. Shi was charged with accepting cash, gifts and properties from engineering companies seeking government construction projects. His wife Ru Xiuqin, a retired official in the bureau’s tender management office, was tried for taking bribes along with Shi. http://news.xinhuanet.com

Feng Hong, former president of Fengtian Hospital affiliated with the Shenyang Medical College, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for accepting bribes worth $2.9 million and embezzling $80,037 in public funds. Feng has allegedly awarded drug and medical devices procurement contracts to a number of private companies in return for kickbacks. http://news.xinhuanet.com

Liu Yifeng, former deputy head of Huiyang District in Huizhou city, Guangdong province, was sentenced to six years in prison for accepting $141,906 in bribes. The bribes were offered by Qiu Zhenming, chairman of Guangdong Woda Group, and Li Shaorong, a private property developer, in exchange for Liu’s help to secure waste water disposal projects and land-use permits. http://www.ycwb.com
