Yang Dacai fired for inappropriate smile

The head of Shaanxi's Provincial Work Safety Administration was fired this week, Chinese government sources said, after pictures of him smiling at the scene of a highway crash that left 36 people dead outraged citizens across the country.

Images of Yang Dacai's inappropriate grin appeared on China's microblogs. The sites also posted pictures of Yang sporting five different luxury watches.

The Communist party's local discipline committee said Yang was fired for his 'inappropriate smiling face behaviour' and for 'wearing many brand-name watches.'

The FCPA Blog carried a story about Yang earlier this month, with the photo of his now infamous smile.
