In China, Death Row Billionaire Names Accomplices

From the China Compliance Digest (Issue No. 4: February 27, 2012):

Three officials in China have been fired after being named as accomplices by Wu Ying, a one-time billionaire currently awaiting Supreme Court review of her death sentence.
On February 21, state-run media agency Xinhua reported the firings of Ling Hua, Head of Agricultural Bank Dengta Branch in Lishui City (Zhejiang Province); Li Tiangui, National People's Congress Deputy Director in Jingmen City (Hubei Province); and Zhou Moudi, Deputy Governor of Agricultural Bank Jingmen Branch.
The firings confirm earlier reports that Wu, pictured above, was seeking forgiveness from authorities and implicating her collaborators in the apparent Ponzi scheme that led to her arrest in 2007.

Wu's death sentence has been hotly contested in the Chinese media, with some suggesting the punishment has less to do with justice than with complicit authorities trying to silence her.
