China Prosecutors Must Report Lobbying Attempts

China's Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) announced this month that it will require procurators (prosecutors) to report attempts to manipulate the criminal justice system with illicit lobbying.

Prosecutors will also be required to provide reports of all meetings with people involved in their cases, including suspects, attorneys, and family members.

In addition, the SPP promised to increase its anti-corruption efforts generally.
